How it works

1

Paste your text

Drop in a sentence, a paragraph or a full essay — up to 12,000 characters at a time. Nothing you paste leaves your browser except the request to the AI.

2

Choose a mode

Standard, Fluency, Formal, Academic, Simple or Creative. Then decide whether the rewrite should stay the same length, get shorter or expand.

3

Copy your rewrite

Read the new version side by side with your original, then copy it, download it as a .txt file, or run it through again for a second pass.

Which mode should you use?

Standard

A balanced rewrite that keeps your original structure and reading level. The safest default when you just need different wording.

Fluency

Smooths out clumsy phrasing, fixes awkward grammar and makes the text read like a confident native speaker wrote it.

Formal

Lifts casual writing into professional register — ideal for reports, cover letters, emails to faculty and business documents.

Academic

Objective, third-person, discipline-appropriate prose for essays, literature reviews, dissertations and research papers.

Simple

Plain English. Shorter sentences and everyday words, so a reader with no background in the topic can follow it.

Creative

The furthest departure from your original wording — fresh phrasing and varied rhythm for blogs, essays and personal statements.

Why students use our paraphrasing tool

Instant and free

Rewrite as much as you need with no sign-up, no credit card and no daily word cap hidden behind a paywall.

Six rewriting modes

Match the register to the job — a lab report and a personal statement should not sound the same.

Nothing is stored

Your text is sent straight from your browser to the AI model. We keep no copy, no account and no history.

Meaning stays intact

Names, dates, figures and quotations are preserved exactly. The wording changes; the facts do not.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI paraphrasing tool really free?

Yes. Paste your text, choose a mode and rewrite as often as you like. There is no sign-up, no trial period and no card required.

How much text can I paraphrase at once?

Up to 12,000 characters — roughly 2,000 words — in a single pass. For longer documents, work through them one section at a time so the rewrite stays accurate.

Will paraphrasing help me avoid plagiarism?

Rewording alone is not enough. Paraphrasing changes the wording, but the idea still belongs to the original author, so you must still cite the source. Use this tool to express a properly cited source in your own voice — not to disguise uncited work.

Is my text stored or used for training?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and sends your text directly to the AI model to be rewritten. We do not save it, log it or build a history against your account — there is no account.

Which mode should I use for a university essay?

Academic. It produces objective third-person prose with appropriately hedged claims. If your draft is already academic but reads awkwardly, use Fluency instead — it smooths the phrasing without changing the register.

Can it paraphrase languages other than English?

Yes. The tool detects the language of your input and rewrites it in that same language.

Will the rewritten text be detected as AI-written?

Possibly — AI detectors flag machine-generated phrasing, and this is a machine rewriting your text. Treat the output as a first draft: read it, edit it into your own voice, and check it against your original before submitting.
