Option 1:Political scientists disagree on the exact causes of the low representation of women in Congress. Why do you think there are so few women in Congress in comparison to men? How likely is it that these patterns of representation will dramatically change over your lifetime? For this discussion question, you will have to do some research online.
Option 2: What characteristics do you think voters look for when choosing a president? Do you think voters choose the characteristics they are looking for depending on the socioeconomic and political environment – lack of jobs, riots, COVID-19, environmental concerns, and other issues, etc.? Explain your answer.

Option 1: Political scientists disagree on the exact causes of the low representation of women in Congress. Why do you think there are so few women in Congress in comparison to men? How likely is it that these patterns of representation will dramatically change over your lifetime? For this discussion question, you will have to do some research online.
Recent studies state that the United States has an elective officeholder based on the traditional methods and modes to be acquired by males. Therefore, based on the recent era, mostly focuses on the less than 17% based on Congress seats that are to be held by women leaders. Therefore, reports have suggested that since the year 1916, the year when women were first been elected under the leaders of the United States. Hence, the fact is still consisted to be true on the note that women are recognized to be an unrepresented or low representation to become a political leader as per the knowledge of Congress.
Therefore, the low percentage of women’s representation is basically associated with several reasons, which can be incumbency, while men take up more responsibility as compared t that of women. For the past four decades, American women have been voted on a higher rate as compared to men. Women are generally based on the charge of the domesticated life (Usnews.Com, 2020). This is just because of them getting pregnant and the charge to do with the household chores. This is undertaken with them being imprisoned while limiting women’s capabilities in the political sense. As compared to this, men have to cover the media and other crucial jobs, as compared to women who are involved in reproductive health disorders or abortion, with the fact that states that women as compared with those men.
Alternatively, the stereotypical capabilities of women are associated with a better social issue, based on women’s rights as well as giving them proper education. As compared with this study, the male candidates have to earn a hard issue based on defense and the economy. The male is more competent than the female, in every aspect because, most of them are engineers, doctors as well as present in martial policing, while the female gets less chance to develop in that position. Thus, sometimes a controversy states that women have the self-confidence to enter into politics. This is because most of the women mainly think that they are qualified and shall remove the stereotypical method as they are compared to the male candidates. Hence, in my opinion, I would suggest that females have the potential to develop themselves to be equal participants, as they are less competitive, but shall increase the risk for the male competent. Results have disclosed that women have been reacting negatively in some aspects as compared to their male counterparts (Amacad.Org, 2020). Politics shows that although based on the proportion, women have to hold on with the Democratic government with a huge position which can increase their proportion in the Republican government that declines their positions. On the contrary in this era of political polarisation, the status of women is increasing while depending upon the political party.
These patterns of representation of female candidates within society have been facing dramatic changes over some time because females are now can be considered to be political leaders and get chances to be a part of politics and involved in the political party. On the other hand, United Nations has allowed women to be reported, by the year 2020, that women’s political representation, based on the global note. Therefore, the gradual changes are based on the progression of women’s representation that is associated with the 2019 election that hit Congress. As compared to the study I would like to mention the name of the youngest woman, who entered Congress is Latino Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who is the present President of her party and is recognized as the House of Representatives from the year 2018 (Unwomen.Org, 2021). Therefore, the Democratic National Wave mainly led to the representations and learning about the public interest based on the female candidates that can help the democratic women to enter into office.
Hence, United Nations Women’s Organization has made a representation to Congress to make van improvements until the present era. Therefore, in the case of the political experts that have been suggesting about the countries that continued to empower women which can fight the misogyny and the fight which is continued from ancient times of gender discrimination. As a result, this simply denotes to the women who have been fighting for a few days back, to get an opportunity on the grounds of politics and shall acquire an equalized position within the nation and in the case of the political parties in Congress, which has been facing a drastic change over some time.
