Week 3 Discussion: Pros and Cons of Interest Groups, Lobbyists, and Corporations

Option 1: What are the pros and cons of lobbyists as a tool for special interest groups? Should former members of Congress be allowed to become lobbyists? Explain your answer.

Lobbying caters to communication that directly enrolls on the topic that is solitary on communication-based on an official or the staff based on the legislation or the executive branch of the government or this can even base on the quasi-public agency. Therefore, the main purpose that influences the legislative or takes administrative action. Therefore, interest groups are formed in order to focus on the people and the firm to share the interest or the cause based on creating an interest to protect and advance with the assistance of the government. For instance, this can be focused on the analysis that deals with the fact that includes the National Association for the Advancement of Colour People known as NAACP, the National Organisation for Women, and others (Greenberg et al. 2021). Therefore, this interests the group under the lobbyist in order to develop support that is formed within the government. A lobbyist is a professional that advocates the work while influencing the political decision on behalf of the individual or an organization. The pros and cons of lobbyists are as follows:

Pros:

Raises awareness: Raising awareness acts as the greatest tool for the lobbyist. Therefore, different people within the government are not aware bout the poor living conditions, based on the small discrimination made against minorities. Therefore, the lobbyist is actually helping to gather a bigger voice so that awareness can be raised of the arising problems.

Increasing the political interest: In order to learn about the increasing political perspective based on the lobbyist that can help to increase the interest on a political note, while creating interest about the fact. Thus, a lobbyist with a basic background in politics gets the people in terms of creating a group so that they can learn about the government. Therefore it is really important to develop an awareness in order to decrease the use of extreme movements based on diminishing society.

Cons:

Lobbyists thrived to be deceitful: Lobbyists can be perfect entertainers just to a point while developing the view to leave to the sight based on the cause.

Unfair to certain situations: Lobbyist often tries to create favors that form a policy while creating an analysis based on the makers. Hence, the way they often offer a policymaker that rewards on creating consideration which is caused over the other.

Thus, in my opinion, I would like to mention that in the case of the former member of Congress which has been allowing all to be the lobbyist under the ethical, fair, and true to the issue while learning about the right cause. The former Congress allowed the lobbyist because they often favored the National Interest. Hereafter, I would like to mention that the former Congress members had the advantage to be a lobbyist, to recognize the real side of the present government. Additionally, this happens to bring forward a sense of knowledge, and awareness along educational aspects based on the members with interest in implementing political awareness (Greenberg et al. 2021).  Thus, no such details are mentioned within the Constitution, which allows the law to be lobbyist while motivating and enriching the interest of the state. Therefore, I would like to conclude on the note, while mentioning that, lobbyist often takes up the advantages to develop a trusting relationship within the communities, which are important with the upcoming elections. For instance, the Former Senate Bob Dole worked as a lobbyist within the Washington law. This was acted as a foreign act under the agency of the government, which worked behind the scenes to establish a high-level contact between the officials to perform elections. Hence, this worked as a noble that establishes a good relationship with the United States government, as the senator was likely to be a lobbyist.
