Situation — After reviewing the second section of your EVM White Paper, your Program Manager submitted it to the DIT COO for his review. Both were very pleased with the improvements you made to your first section and the quality of your second section as they had only a few questions and suggestions for improving your work. The task now is to prepare for the third section of your EVM White Paper. The third section will consist of providing the DIT project managers with a thorough understanding of EVM Reporting requirements.
Weekly Discussion Questions
Earned Value Management is a method that allows the project manager to measure the amount of work performed on a project beyond the basic review of cost and schedule reports. The EVM is the technique that is used by the organization to understand the project’s performance and progress. Here the progress of the project can acknowledge how far the work has been done and what work needs to be done to improve the performance. Here in the reporting requirement of the EVM, all the information related to the documents is given (Fu et al. 2019, p.1115). Here the information is provided to the project manager that what are the important factors that need to be checked or should be there.
In the EVM reporting organization, the information related to the organization is there that what is the progress of the project and how far the project has come here. The performances of the projects have also been provided so that it can be easy for the manager to conclude what changes are essential to be made. Here the information is provided that what are the important factors which need to be looked after and what documents should be reported. Here in the reporting requirement, all the information related to the reporting of the project is there that what needs to be reported to the manager and what important documents need to be made or the important decision that should be made accordingly. Here in the reporting requirement, all the information of the reports with the information of the various documents were there so that it can be helpful to understand what are the changes which are to be made. Here the information related to the work and its progress status is updated with the proper attachment of the paper in the organization as well.
It can be said that the reporting is done so that it can be easy to understand what are the changes which need to be performed so that the work can be done properly without any issues. So the major difficulty that takes place is work performance (Ma et al. 2019, p.55). It is quite often seen that the work is not done properly or some of the issues remain there in the performance of the work as well. So, with the reporting, all the correct information is to be sent to the client so that the client has the actual knowledge of what is the work which is performed and up till which and give detailed information of it as well.
