Week 4 Discussion 2: Failures of Organizational Change
Organizational changes are not always successful some changes also led to the downfall. There is various reason for the downfall of the transition of the organization and some are listed below-
Lack of proper communication–
One of the main reasons for the downfall of the organization is the communication problem. Communication plays a vital role in the organization and helps to connect the organization with its customer. If proper communication did not take place then the company will not be able to understand their customer and their need which led to the ultimate downfall of the organization (Munro & Thanem, 2018, p.52). There should be proper communication between the management and the employees for the proper running of the organization.
Hurry to quicken up the work–
The other reason for the downfall of the organization is due to the quick or hastened decision-making. Several times it is seen that the quick decision is made by the organization to do the work fast or to quicken up the process which sometimes led to the wrong decision-making in a hurry. The decision should be made through a proper discussion with the management and by properly analyzing the matters and the facts.
The 5 pillars
The five pillars which help the organization to succeed are project management, process management, change management, knowledge management, and resource management. If all the five pillars are handled properly then it can lead to growth in the organization and the organization will see success in the business (Lepeley, 2020, p.5).
The organization which failed in the development process is the Nokia company. It is seen that when every other company is shifting to Android they chose to stick with their Symbian operating system which led them to great loss. Due to this, it resulted in the company having to sell the company to Microsoft Corporation. The transition should be dealt with systematically otherwise, it would cripple down giant companies the way it crippled Nokia company.
