A learning organization is a dynamic business environment that encourages and fosters continuous learning to compete effectively in a highly competitive 21st-century economy. What are the characteristics of a learning organization, and how do these characteristics help managers and employees work together to rise to the challenges they must confront in a rapidly changing business environment?

Week 5 Discussion – Learning Organizations

The characteristics of a learning organization include workers who are encouraged to take risks. Risks are important as they will create innovation in the organization. Through risks, an organization can undertake programs that will ensure sustainability and competitiveness in the market. Workers are allowed to make mistakes in the learning organization. Through mistakes, an individual can make progress as they learn and seek to improve their ways. Their consistency is objectives that are envisaged. Workers are aligned towards a specific goal that would ensure they acquire essential skills. The learning organization is where the people work together within the organization and learn new work and strategies that are beneficial for the organization as well.  In the learning organization, all the people work together and motivate each other to work properly and to learn new things for the organization as well.

The characteristics of a learning organization do help managers and employees work together to rise to the challenges through creating inquisitiveness. Through inquisitiveness, workers are influenced to make decisions. Taking action is an important step toward attaining the goals envisaged. Bold decisions can be achieved when workers are learning as they utilize skills, which is an important element. A rapidly changing business environment can be contained when workers are experienced and informed. Employees within a learning organization have improved relations which is an essential characteristic to confront a rapidly changing business environment. eLearning environment prepares the employees and leadership to seek effective solutions. Competition can only be sustained in an environment where one seeks to learn. Revenue generation is assured among employees who are seeking to learn. Customers’ perspectives hence learning will provide skills to retain as well as influence loyalty. The main characteristic of the learning organization is that it helps in the learning of teamwork. In the organization, teamwork will take place where the people will work together for the good. The characteristic of the learning organization is that all the people work together in an organization to learn because the people here are ready to l; ern together and are motivated enough to work in the organization together. This is one of the most important characteristics of the learning environment.

These characteristics help managers and employees work together to rise to the challenges they must confront in a rapidly changing business environment. Learning provides skills that will enhance innovation as well as develop courage which is essential to take action. Organizations are supposed to be influenced by the right mindset among workers to ensure the targets are attained hence creating a positive trajectory. Through learning an organization develops improved relations which is essential to ensure improved productivity. These characteristics help the manager to work together and some of them are stated below-

Firstly, this characterizes the learning organization and helps to build a good relationship with the worker. As the people are working together in the organization they get to understand and get to know each other as well.

Secondly, working together in the organization helps to bring out new ideas and innovation in the organization (Hsu & Lamb, 2020, p.5). If the people are working together in the organization, then innovation in the organization can take place. Due to the various people working in the same organization, the innovation will take place as clearly.

Thirdly a good understanding will be created between the [people who are learning together because they interact with each other well and understand as well which reduces the chances of conflict that might take place in the organization as well. This characteristic helps to create good bonding in the organization and due to this the growth in the organization can be seen and the people will also learn new things by helping each other out making new ideas and innovations in the organization for the betterment.

These are the characteristics that help the manager and the employees to work together in the organization.
