Week 4 Discussion Forum
Complete your week 4 required discussion prompt. A hospital marketing director has several research projects to undertake this quarter. He must try to determine the appropriate sampling methodology for each problem.
Provide your recommendations on the appropriate sampling methodology for each of these issues:
- The hospital’s urology department wants to establish a sexual dysfunction clinic. The department head wants to get an estimate of the number of men ages 35 to 60 in the community suffering from some form of sexual dysfunction.
- A primary care medical group is trying to determine if patients are being greeted and serviced appropriately by the billing and admitting departments.
- An MCO is trying to determine what concerns physicians have in agreeing to become part of its panel of physicians who will treat its subscribers.
Week 4 Discussion: Hospitality Management
To collect the data the sampling method are to be done where the sample of the person are been taken. It can be considered an important element as it helps to fain the information related to the sources. However, the process never just ends like that, it involves the various methods ought to be put into consideration such as the stratified and unstratified methods, equal unit versus unequal unit method, simple sampling, and cluster method among many others sampling techniques.
The Urology department in the first case is meant to deal with the function and disorders mainly of the urinary system. According to this case here we have to find out an estimate of the number of men ages 35 to 60 in the community suffering from some form of sexual dysfunction. Here we have to find out the various people who are suffering from a similar issue Here to find out the total we need to do the cluster sampling where we need to collect the data of the hospital and the clinal ce3mntyer who provide the various cases which came there for the similar issue (Yu et al. 2020, p.5). Here the data collection is there so cluster sampling will help in this situation. This method will help to know detailed information about the number of men ages 35 to 60 in the community suffering from some form of sexual dysfunction.
Here the medical care group tries to determine if patients are being greeted and serviced appropriately by the billing and admitting departments. For knowing this we need to know the data that what are the review of the person after the service they have taken and the rating which they have provided to the group. By collecting the data of each person, we can identify whether the people are happy with the services which are provided to them. We can ask the patient whether they are greeted properly whether the work is done properly within the time and how were their experiences in isolation. It helps to provide the full; information related to their experience and from there we can be identified that whether the majority of the customers are satisfied or not with the work provided.
The MCO is to determine the concerns possessed by the physicians in becoming members of the board. This will follow the direction of making an effort to do research and get data from physicians who could be willing to be part of the MCO (Rintala et al. 2019, p.2). This will entail a simple but special sampling technique involving the physicians only in the region. We need to ask the physician what led them to join her in this panel and treat its subscriber. With the information provided by them, we can conclude the reason for that and can get the correct answer related to their joining. We can also understand the priority of the physician and their needs which leads them to join here and provide treatment to their subscribers and it can be done by the data collection of the physician who is working here.
