Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

What are 2 key attributes of well-written requirements? How do these attributes impact the quality of the requirements? How might you assess system requirements based on these attributes?

Week 2 Discussion: Well-defined Business Requirements

The attributes of requirement are descriptive properties or characteristics associated with any document. It can be either user-defined attributes owned by the project owner or system-defined attributes. Some examples of user-defined attributes are risk, iteration, priority, and others (ibm.com, 2022). The requirements can have several criteria or attributes that make it good or well-written requirements and two key attributes are listed below

  • Clear and Concise
  • Feasible and realistic

The requirements should be mentioned clearly and concisely so that users can easily understand them without any restrictions. The requirements must have appropriate content, format, and alignment supported with evidence. This attribute makes requirements more user-friendly and, as a result, reduces the chances of errors while implementing the tasks mentioned in the requirements. The requirements must be correct like it should include all of the requirements, follow writing guidelines, and point out key points to be covered in the execution.

Other essential attributes of reasonable requirements are feasible and realistic, and it defines the content should have real meaning and not cover any impossible points that cannot be executed. These attributes allow requirements to cover only possible or realistic points that can be covered in the given time frame. Thus, the above points can be crucial in creating reasonable requirements.
