Week 5 Reflection
This week was pretty good. I feel like I gained a lot of knowledge and it’s only the second week of the leadership course. My favorite part of the week was reading about compassionate love and servant leadership. It was a total highlight of my week as I shared this with my friends. The article enlightened me to strive for leadership and fairness in work. I also found the bookcases to be very fun. I envisioned myself as being the manager in the scenarios which helped me answer the questions. It is something I will be paying more attention to in the future. I enjoyed the article by Sousa and van Dierondonck and look forward to learning more about this particular style as well as leadership ethics. In looking over and reading the first few chapters, I like the organization and structure of the text as presented.
I will also say that I am very excited about the opportunity to be exposed to several different styles of leadership. I also found the journal article interesting. In this week I learned about the leadership unfairness theories and learned why it is important in the organization and why the leaders should always add fairness in their work as well. This week’s work helped me to understand fairness in the work and how the leader should act in the organization.
