Forum 5-1: Challenges for the Church Instructions

If you had unsaved friends and wanted to show them the “Body of Christ”, in action, where you would take them? To a church worship service? A church-sponsored sporting event? Please explain your choice.

Additionally, do you agree with the videos in the resources section on why people are “growing tired “of the church? Why or why not? What do you think might be some of the reasons that people (even Christians) increasingly “avoid” the church today? Please include any personal experiences appropriate to these questions as support for your response.

How can a modern church improve its appeal without “watering” down its message or mission?

Forum 5-1: Challenges for the Church

If you had unsaved friends and wanted to show them the “Body of Christ”, in action, where you would take them? To a church worship service? A church-sponsored sporting event? Please explain your choice.

Chapter 10 delivers the detailed idea at the beginning of the chapter stating that Christians are related to the person, while the Bible knows nothing about the “private”, religion. Therefore, I would like to mention to my unsaved friend while explaining about the individual Christians in respect of their faithfulness and their moral integrity, while showing the “Body of Christ”, through the figure of Billy Graham and Mother Teresa (Phillips et al. p. 239).

Based on the church worship service, where people often mentioned that people are likely to be an object, who discloses that the church is full of hypocrites. Yet, this often allows the critics to commit the fallacy based on the generation and dismiss everything about Christianity. Hence, this chapter discloses the credibility factors, which are likely to make a decision based on the factors stating that the public these days, think that church worship service is based on the financial “huckstering”. Therefore, previously, it was mentioned that sins were the culture, while now sins of the church are based on the credibility gap as this widens (Phillips et al. p. 239).

Thus, churches are encouraging physical activities, which are sports, based on integrity, which mainly focuses on the objective to raise financial funds for the church to facilitate their charity. Hence, many have another opinion too, mentioning that the Church is likely to be the place to earn financial profit in the name of scripture and Christ (Phillips et al. p. 239-240).

Additionally, do you agree with the videos in the resources section on why people are “growing tired” of a church? Why or why not? What do you think might be some of the reasons that people (even Christians) increasingly “avoid” the church today? Please include any personal experiences appropriate to these questions as support for your response.

The first video by Bas Rijksen, has tried to give an explanation about why Christians are sick and they are getting tired of going to the Institutional Church. His observation and his explanation showed me a different aspect of life, while he discloses about the business which is caused in the Church. I really liked his video because, he uses certain key terms, in terms of the business taking place in church. As a result, he made an altercation that the church of today is what Christ already develop in his mind (Youtube.com 2015).

Based on my personal experience, I would like to mention that there are some reasons, that have stopped Christians, to attend the Church. Apparently, I have studied a report, which mentioned that churches make irrelevant ideas, with hypocritical leaders, and these leaders often experience moral failures. Therefore, Rijksen said something correctly that Churches are making business, though it is good, to raise funds for charity, yet they are conglomerating some sins within the Church, with disbelief, where the actual God is missing.

How can a modern church improve its appeal without “watering” down its message or mission?

Therefore, the modern church requires to make certain improvements with the term “watering”, down the mission, with the ideas by giving out the best news of the world. Therefore, Church is required to give out the message stating that Jesus Christ offers hope for all the hopeless. Hence, this can lead to development among the public and the Christians whosoever goes to the church stating that they can freely admit their sins, in order to identify the Isaiah with intense awareness based on the personal and public note. Therefore, modern churches should follow the ideals to spread the message about being a true Christian, which is necessarily through actions, which is helping with charity. Thus, this is the possible method taken up by Christians to spread awareness about Christianity across the globe (Phillips et al. p. 254).
