He enter career counseling at the time when he was going through divorce, child support and custody battle for his son. At the time he went to counseling Daren parents was his sole financial support. He felt that his father was critical. His father was especially not supportive of Darren’s artistic abilities and emphasized the importance of developing scientific skills and knowledge. Both parents were anxious for him to return to work. He has taken the strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator preference code is INFJ.

1. Compare and contrast coaching and consulting including their focus, goal, example, roles, and responsibilities). Synthesize the similarities and differences between them based on the characteristics noted.

2. Then, analyze the case study you chose. Apply the principles of coaching to this scenario, and explain why coaching would be an appropriate model to use with this client. Also consider what elements of consulting, if any, might be helpful in working with this client (assuming permission from/relationship with client).
