The individual reflection aims to reflect upon the skill development learning outcome, thus, the process of gathering, applying and analysis management practice using relevant theory.
1.You should reflect upon how management theory and concepts are applied to understand, interpret, analyse and/or evaluate management practice in your investigation of the management issues at your chosen organisation. Are there any other skills that you have refined this term on this module?
2.Evaluate the effectiveness of your team and identify possible reasons for variations in performance, using at least one of the issues noted below:
a)Any issues relating to motivating each other in the team (Maslow, 1943; Herzberg, 1959)
b)Any issues relating to how the emergence (or not) of a leader helped or hindered group performance,
c)Any issues relating to any sources of power that were used to influence others (e.g. French and Raven’s, 1959)
d)Any issues relating to the stages of development in which your group have passed to date (e.g. Tuckman and Jenson, 1977)
e)Any issues relating to team composition (e.g. Belbin, 1993)
